Ad-Memoire is a reminiscence resource that uses some of the UK’s best loved vintage TV commercials and print ads to provide care organisations, hospitals and individuals with activities, entertainment and memory prompts. The ads and the social history they contain are designed to appeal to older people, including those living with dementia.
Ad-Memoire has been developed by History of Advertising Trust (HAT) in consultation with the University of East Anglia’s School of Health Sciences
HAT is an educational charity, established in 1976, to preserve the heritage of the UK ad industry and make it accessible to all for study and research. Subsequently HAT is the largest archive of British advertising in the world, holding over 10 million items in its collections (1800-present).
